These kinds of documents which were provided by the Myanmar government in earlier periods to our grandparents and ancestors should be preserved for our new generation so that we can know how our ancestors had lived, how they identified themselves and how they interacted with institutions and authorities in Myanmar. These documents are called: ၃ ခေါက်ချိုးသက်သေခံကဒ်ပြား (Three folded national card) Theae cards were given in two types of colour: for female pink but for male green. These national cards were used to transport, for the banking transactions and to access different kinds of services. Time passed down by parents and grandparents but these old documents can help us with additional information to fill the gaps to know how our identities changed over time. These documents show the citizenship, official recognition and identity of our grandparents and demonstrate the Rohingya people's identity and connection to Myanmar. #PreserveOurHistory #RohingyaHistory #RohingyaIdentity #FoldedNationalCard #Documentary Asifa Husayn Rohingya Photographic Society
